The people wanted to crown Jesus King. But He would not let them. He sent the apostles away in their boat and told the crowds to go home. He wanted to be alone and There was a bad storm on the lake. The apostles rowed hard, but the wind and big waves were against them. Toward morning they suddenly saw Jesus. He was walking on the water! They thought He was a ghost and were terrified. But He said, "Do not be afraid. It is I!" Peter answered, "If it is really You, tell me to come to You." Jesus said, "Come!" Peter came toward Jesus, walking on the water.
But the wind was very strong and Peter became frightened. He lost courage, and then he began to sink. "Lord, save me!" he cried. Jesus caught hold of him, and said, "Why did you lose courage, man of little faith?" Jesus and Peter got into the boat, and all at once the wind and the waves were still. The apostles worshipped Jesus.
"You are the Son of God," they said. When they reached the other shore, the people there recognized Jesus. They brought Him everyone they knew who was ill and He cured all of them.
